Can a king bed fit in a 10×12 room?
See the table above: it’s calculated from the room’s dimensions. As a rule of thumb, leave ~60 cm (2 ft) on each side and ~75 cm (2.5 ft) at the foot for comfort.
Should the bed go on the longest wall?
Not automatically. The command position matters more than wall length: pick the wall that sees the door diagonally and has no window behind it.
